Great news!
We just got picked up for ANOTHER season of LA INK! We are set to start filming for it in early July, so TLC is doing their casting as we speak. Just to give all of my friends on MySpace a heads up before they make an announcement, I thought I’d post this.

I finally got my internet working….Its been days. I had my computer sitting on our cocktail table one night and there was a bottle of Jack Daniels on the table and somehow(don’t ask), I kicked the bottle over and the Jack ran under my damn laptop. It been somewhat okay, little problems here and there but so far so good! (knock on wood)
Anyway, the whole point to this blog is to document something that I did last Wednesday. I saved a life.
A few months ago I was required to renew my CPR card in order to get into my nursing program. I went through the class and passed with flying colors….again. I never thought that I would ever use those skills outside of a medical facility…..I don’t know why I thought like that, I guess I just never thought I would be put in that situation to “really” have to “do” something.
So I was @ work, filing away titles when I saw my co-worker, Feye, running towards us, stumbling and grabbing @ her throat (the universal sign of choking). My co-worker Margie and I both saw her panic and fear ( I have NEVER seen that face before….believe me, it was frightening!). Her face had a cyanotic tone so I knew @ that moment what was going on and that I need to act fast. Margie starts yelling out that she is choking and for someone to help her, without hesitation or panic I ran over to her, performed the Hiemlich and got the food out of her throat. I was in disbelief after everything happened because it happened so fast. The adrenaline kicked my ass. I helped her to the restroom, cleaned her up, and realized what I had done. Faye graciously thanked me for saving her life, sent me roses and a card and calls me her guardian angel…..
I know God’s plan for me, I am meant to be a life-saver, I am meant to be a healer, I am meant to be a nurse. I sit back and think about my accomplishment, not everyone can say that they have, or can, do what I have done, and I damn proud of myself. I try to be as modest as I can about it because in my eyes, I am doing what I have been trained for.
